TRAINING COURSES

Background

Our training courses are tailored to your specfic corporate requirements. Each course is composed of modules, usually lasting about one hour, which are selected from a very wide range available. For organisations with special requirements we can produce modules to suit your precise needs.

We normally work with groups of up to 10 delegates, but larger courses can be organised. Each delegate receives a full set of course notes.

Our courses are normally run at your company site, or at a nearby venue, to minimise expense.

Courses

Metallurgy

Our entry-level course is "An Introduction to Metals", which assumes no previous knowledge of materials, and is intended for employees in a technical role in organisations involved with metals.

"Metallurgy for Engineers" is a course intended to provide an understanding of the processsing and properties of metals for engineers involved in design and manufacture. This course is often tailored to suit specific manufacturing environments and types of metals.

"Avoiding Metallic Failures" is a course which highlights common causes of failure in metallic components and suggests how to avoid them. This course, intended for designers, is based on our experience of numerous failure investigations.

For component designers and process engineers using computer modelling we offer a course "Materials Data for Finite Element Modelling", which provides a background to gathering and using material property data in computer modelling.

Many other courses are available and courses can be designed to suit particular needs. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Plastics and Rubbers

"An Introduction to Polymers" is our entry-level course and assumes no previous knowledge of materials. This course is useful for employees in a technical role in organisations involved with plastics and rubbers.

"Polymers for Engineers" is a course intended to provide an understanding of the processsing and properties of plastics and rubbers for engineers involved in design and manufacture. This course is often tailored to suit specific manufacturing routes and types of polymers.

Common causes of failure in plastic components, and how to avoid them, are reviewed in a course "Avoiding Polymeric Failures". Intended for designers, this course is based on our experience gained from numerous failure investigations.

Many other courses are available and courses can be designed to suit particular needs. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
